learning sql

Post by sam-I-am » Wed Aug 19, 2020 4:52 am

I once knew how to program, a little. D-Base, Fortran. Hey, its only been 30+ years ago. So what would be the best reference to teach myself enough SQL so I could learn how to do custom reports? Sam Barr

Hi Sam,
You may want to start with the tutorials on Youtube. Then look at the query examples on OD website
Note - you won't be able to change any of the tables as described on YT but they are great for query writing.

What type of reports are you planning to pull?

Generally a business just creates a set of reports and rarely goes to poke around in SQL. Naturally, these records can cause damage or confusion to your staff if it's in the wrong hands.
