Hello all,
I am having a hard time trying to figure out how to print claims with the procedure codes in order. Whether printing paper or sending it to EDS, the codes are not in numerical order. It will put exam, the prophy, then xrays or any random orders. How do I go about making sure the codes are in order when printing or sending to EDS?
Thank you in advnace
Print Procedure Codes in Order
Re: Print Procedure Codes in Order
We don't currently have a feature that allows procedures to be reordered on a claim. Please consider voting for feature request #4219. See our manual for more details on feature requests, https://www.opendental.com/manual/featurerequests.html.

Re: Print Procedure Codes in Order
How is it that in the other office when claims are printed or sent to EDS, the codes are in proper order? 0150, 0220, 0230, 0274...... I imagine there has to be a way this can be accomplished. Maybe something before creating a claim. I found something that has you set priorities, so how is that adjusted?

From the manual, https://www.opendental.com/manual/proce ... order.html
Procedures on a claim are sorted in the following order:
Procedures on a claim are sorted in the following order:
This is referring to the priority that can be assigned to a procedure on the Treatment Plan Module. You could give a group of treatment planned procedures that will be on the same claim a set of sequential priorities that force them into code order, but this would have to be done for each treatment planned procedure every time you want to guarantee the desired order.1. Priority (highest to lowest based on the order of priority options). This is very difficult to identify since priority does not show on the claim.
2. Tooth number (no tooth number first, then lowest to highest)
3. Date (oldest on top)
4. None. It does not sort by procedure code. If two codes have the same priority, tooth number, and date then the order is random. It may be in the order charted but it may not. The order could even change.
