Official No Fee codes

Post by jcbdmd » Tue Apr 27, 2021 5:27 am

Discussion:

We are a database conversion customer from Dentrix, and our old software being so <grin> limited </grin>, we had created hundreds of fictitious codes to describe procedures for accurate scheduling and tracking. This resulted in a huge amount of clutter post conversion, and I hope to go forward one day only using the "Official" codes.

I think it would be nice to have some sort of vote or poll or community sourced effort to add "No Fee" codes that would help our assistants have a better idea of what is coming their way for some of these appointments.

I will start it off with two "No Fee" codes I think should be added (as per the request of my front office):

N4xxx RPD Mouth Preps
N4xxx Sent to collections (so it shows when we print progress notes for a patient)

Eventually I would think that Open Dental would only add codes that had OVERWHELMING support to be added so as not to bloat things

Already in OD you can create your own codes, the No fee codes. You can create as many as you want.

here you can put the new created code in the NO FEE group

If needed, contact OD support for assistance

Thanks!

However, we are familiar with and have created codes in the past in both Dentrix and Open Dental, and those codes become PERMANENT fixtures in the database that are hard to replace with newer official codes down the road. Leading to bloat and duplicate codes when later codes are made official.

What I was really asking for is some common No Fee codes we all could agree on, that could be added to Open Dental as a crowd sourced improvement.

Let me rephrase my question/suggestion.

Does Open dental have a method to suggest/request codes be added to the official list of "No Fee" codes that ship with opend dental?

Feature request?

Yes, creating a Feature Request is the only method for requesting that these codes be added.
