Membership plan discounts for 2 different Drs with different fees

Post by babysilvertooth » Mon Jul 19, 2021 8:54 am

I have a specialist in the office with different fees than me. I set up the Membership plant to show 20% off my standard fees in fee set up module.
Is there a way to have the Membership fees just take 20% whatever fee is associated with the procedure?
If not, any suggestions for correctly showing the 20% off the specialist instead of 20% standard which is then a big discount off his fees?

Thanks

There isn't currently a way to have percentage based discount plans, but we have received a request to add this feature. If you would like to vote on that feature request, click "Request Features" in the Open Dental Help menu, and search for request #12281. See our manual for more details on Feature Requests here, https://www.opendental.com/manual/featurerequests.html.

When we set up our in house discount plan, I copied the practice default fee schedule to a new fee schedule titled "MFD DiscountPlan". I then used the fee schedule tool to decrease the fees in the new schedule to 15% off. I then assigned that fee schedule to our discount plan that I had already created. You can follow the same steps to make a third fee schedule and apply it to the appropriate discount plan and assign as needed.
If I needed a code specific one I would just manually go through and decrease the applicable procedure codes in the fee schedule. So you could jut use whichever fee schedule, copy it, then manually calculate and edit the procedures with the fees the specialist is using in the specialist's fee schedule. A bit time consuming to initially set up if your specialist is using a lot of codes, but worth it to not have to remember to apply discounts on the fly. Hope that helps.

Thanks msmfd, I have set the discount plan fee schedule this way already. I am running into issues for codes that the specialist and I both use, like extractions; will have to tell Admin team to watch for those. I've over-ridden the other codes as only the specialist uses them, so in the discount fee schedule it is 20% off his normal fee.....
