Freak OUT!

Post by Justin Shafer » Sat Jul 24, 2021 4:10 pm

So someone called me today about backups and asked about.. backingup.. zzzZZZZZ

At first he said his OD Images folder was over 1TB in size and I told him that sounded awfully wrong. So I logged into an office to compare...

And I looked at d:\mysql\data\opendental and all the files look small AND they haven't been modified for a long time, except for idbdata which is 3GB.

I guess ibdata1 is my new innodb database???

Weird... but I guess so...

OpenDentImages can certainly fill up pretty quick. We just migrated from PracticeWorks late last year and our xray folder there is a little over 900 GB which we are slowly migrating over to OD. Currently our OpenDentImages sits at 90 GB since its really only been in use for a year.

Current releases are on innodb but they plan to are using maria for future releases and will continue to support mysql per the manual page
