Removing implant from tooth chart

Post by teethdood » Wed Jan 25, 2023 9:42 am

Is there a way to remove an existing implant? Say a patient has #30 implant. I extract the implant (using D7210, I know I'm using the wrong code). The implant image still shows in the tooth chart. Which code can I use to have the implant image removed? Thanks

You have to delete all the codes related to the implant in the chart module.

Do you just want to hide the implant graphic?

In the chart double click on the D6010 entry and tick the 'Hide Graphics' checkbox. Click 'OK' and the implant graphic will no longer show in the chart.

Thank you for your replies.

If I delete the codes related to the existing implant (implant not done by me), it would be as though the implant never existed. If it never existed, then my notes relating to my extraction of it would be invalid. So I don't think that's the way to go.

So I hid the graphics as wjstarck suggested and that did the trick. My charting of the existing condition including the existing implant is still valid.

Ideally, the extraction code (D7210 or another code) should remove the graphics. That way when using the slider underneath the tooth chart, you'd see there was an implant until the explant was done.

Thanks again gentlemen!

Dr. Doan -

FYI the ADA code for 'Implant removal, by report' is D6100

Bill,
Great tip. I did not know we could do that in OD.
Just used it to remove the 'X' over treatment planned extractions that were referred out and completed.

Nice!
Dr. Zaccaria: I always disliked the leftover X on referred extractions also. Thanks for the reminder.
Dr. Starck: Thanks for the tip and the code.
