Webforms font size too small... can it be enlarged?

Post by mikeyandrewDDS » Tue Mar 26, 2024 4:09 pm

I a relatively new user of OD... wonderful software overall. I would like to use Webforms and go "digital" for my patient forms (Registration, HH, Financial, etc.). However, a test-drive of my registration form using an 11" tablet has the font size very small. Small enough that old-folks (or patients with fat fingers) would find frustrating to use. If patients are frustrated using webforms (either in waiting room, or at home on their own device), then one of two things will happen...

1) create more work for my FD staff helping patients fill out their forms, which isnt an efficient use of already tight labor resources
...or even worse...
2) patients will bypass webforms and request paper forms (I'll fill it out when I get to the waiting room), defeating the sole purpose of webforms

Quite frankly, I am not impressed by webforms at all. My own physician's office has a much better digital layout on their tablets for forms to be completed. OD's webforms are boring, plain, require reading glasses to use, and could be much better for patients to navigate.

Is there an area of the OD software that can customize the webforms? Add a logo? Enlarge button and font sizes? Allow for pictures of oneself (or insurance card) to be taken directly? Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks!

Mikey,
Webforms can be edited via the sheets system, but to get access to some of the features you are looking for (Adding a logo, enlarging fonts, etc...) you will need to disable the mobile version of sheets that you plan on uploading to our webforms server. This will ensure the patient is routed to our non-mobile webform, which will look more like a paper sheet.

Webforms is a free service that is available to you while you are on support, but Open Dental does offer another paid service for this purpose called eClipboard (https://www.opendental.com/site/eclipboard.html).

eClipboard is designed as a patient check-in application for your front office and should fulfill your needs that you described in your post. eClipboard is also a newer application that has features being added to it regularly.

If you have any questions, I recommend contacting Open Dental support to have them go over the available options and how eServices can work with your practice needs.
