I have port 80 blocked for all the opendental workstations in our office to prevent random surfing and accidental infections. Our staff cannot access the http://www.opendental.com/contact.html site when they need remote support. Port 443 is open and dental claims pass through without a problem.
Keeping with the spirit of open source, may I suggest https://letsencrypt.org/ for a free SSL certificate? The site access will be secure for everybody.
If it is too much work, is there another way of initiating a secure connection for remote support with code without opening port 80 on our office firewall?

Re: https for opendental.com
You don't need to go to our contact page unless you forgot our number (which is 503-363-5432). Just click "Help > Remote Support with Code" from within Open Dental. It's faster than the website way anyway.

The best thing about a boolean is even if you are wrong, you are only off by a bit.
