Credit Card Integration

Over the years, we have had approximately 30 other companies contact us requesting to be integrated, form partnerships, etc. Obviously, we cannot build 30 different bridges. If you are a representative from a payment processing company, and you wish to directly integrate your software with Open Dental, the answer is currently "no".

Does this mean you will not even allow external developers to develop solutions for clients?

We are developers and looking to build an integration bridge for a client. The gateway requested by the client is obviously not currently supported. Is this something that you would consider accepting into your one of your branches (present or future) assuming we meet all your development standards?

We do not accept code submissions except in very rare situations. Payment processing tends to be a fairly complex 2-way series of exchanges. It's not just a simple bridge, so I don't see how it could possibly be feasible. But integration is not required to run credit cards. There is only a small amount of double entry that the user would need to perform.

Thanks for your reply. However, I am a bit confused by the Open Dental project.

That begs the question, why do you provide open access to your source code if you do not allow contributions? And what benefit is provided to the community if contributions are only allowed in very rare situations?
