Claims printing error

I upgraded to the beta version and hired a new front office person. When printing a claim the preprinted background does not show up. Why is that? It just shows the text entered into the claim without the background image of the claim form.

Have you had it working in the past? Our trial version does not include the background because it's copyrighted. It will print the background if you are on the full version, whether beta or standard release.

It was working. I haven't upgraded since version 6.4 or something b/c I didn't feel a need. I really wanted the PDF viewer so I compiled it and installed the beta then copied everything from my "Release" folder into the "\program files\open dental" folder so I may have overridden something. I saved the originals in case.

Oh. If you compile it, you will still need the CDT.dll supplied by us. It contains the background image. The CDT.dll from 6.4 should work with newer versions. However, we did make a change to the dll at some point in the past, and I don't remember when. Try copying your original CDT.dll into your application folder.

I'm having a similar problem so will post here as well. I have compiled version 6.7 and have the CDT.dll file in the Required dll's folder. I am just testing out the program so I have not ever had the 2006 claim form print out before. Unfortunately only the data fields print, not the background claim form. I have set as the default in setup 2006 claim form. I've searched through the forum here and haven't found any posts closer than this one. I'd appreciate a suggestion that will allow me to print the claim form from a compiled version. Thank you.

You aren't allowed to and there isn't any possible way around the restriction. We worked very hard on building in that restriction due to copyright issues. You have to print on preprinted claimforms that you purchase from a printer that has license to distribute printed claimforms.

If you are planning on being a distributor of Open Dental, you can get a license to distribute CDT content as explained on our website. After you get the license, we can provide you with the necessary files to distribute the content.
