My Hygienist Deleted a Perio Exam Chart and... There was no way to undelete it.
Seems to me, there should be either:
- A security restriction
Or a soft delete
Or an undelete
Or a prompt asking, “Are you sure?”
Thoughts? Has this happened to anyone else?

We typically ask the user if they are sure first before deleting things, I'll create a ticket for this.

Correction, apparently we already ask the question "Delete Exam?" and have since before Open Dental 4.7
I only looked at the Delete button from within the Perio Chart window, is there another way your hygienist is deleting exams?

Hi Jason - she deleted the perio exam chart from the perio chart page. I’ll have to try and replicate it later. Of course, she might have confirmed “Do you want to delete”, too. At least she fessed up.

So - she
did click without reading the box - "Do you want to delete this exam, Y or N"
Sigh - why can't they all just be perfect, like me?

You could restrict your less than perfect employees by putting a date restriction on the PerioEdit permission so that they have to ask a perfect user, such as yourself, before deleting historic exams.

Finally got to playing around with it today Jason.
IMO, user groups other than admin should have the perio chart edit (and all edits) automatically set to 'x' days as a default.
Thanks!
