email not working
im getting the following error message below when trying to send an email thru OD, if anyone has any input how to fix, please let me know, thanks

Yes it’s worked all along for years
Just stopped suddenly
We use gmail
Password didn’t change
Nothing changed that I can think of

Was it working based on the Less Secure apps feature? They recently disabled that feature

As jmazzie said, this is due to the feature change of security. To solve it, login to your email from a browser:
1) turn on 2-factor. Goto your account (manage your account) and then click on secrity recommendations to set it up.
2) click on security on left menu and then click on App passwords. then generate a password from there (you could use custom name as opendental etc).
3) copy that 16 character password and put it into the opendental email (setup->manage->e-mail and click on your gmail account and paste the 16 chars into your password field.

Jeff, I like your option. My IT just got done changing gmail/Outlook365 from POP to IMAP and now it works. However, all of the organization I had is gone, and a big new dump of uncategorized emails are waiting for me to sort. Maybe I'll check to see if I can go back.

@Gary, it might be easier to just add the outlook application to the 3rd party access list.
