We are getting some phantom outstanding claims showing up on our reports? Is this a known bug?
If not I can call in with more specific information. Thanks.

Re: Oustanding Insurance Claims Report
Our outstanding claims report will show some claims as not sent, but when I go in to check that patient's claims there is a claim created and sent. I figured out that if a patient has had a previous insurance (insurance was dropped to add new insurance) sometimes it will show that there is an outstanding claim because Open Dental is thinking that the other insurance is still attached. You can click on each procedure that is marked unsent and delete the one for the previous insurance and leave the one for the new insurance. Or you can go to add insurance and click on the previous insurance they had and once the insurance screen comes up you will click on drop. This has worked for our office. It may work for you. I hope this is what you are talking about, and hopes it helps you.

If there is a phantom claim showing on that report, then I would classify that as a bug that we need to fix. If we have a copy of the database, then we can track down the phantom and remove it as part of a db maint run.

Re: Oustanding Insurance Claims Report
You would just call us. It can take a little time to wend its way through our bug system, but the first step is for us to remotely verify what you're seeing. So be ready with one specific claim that you can definitely and easily prove does not show in the patient account. A specific and reproducible issue like that will help it move through the system much more quickly.
