I will be doing a startup with OD, Sirona pan, and either Owandy or e2v for my IO sensor.
What do you guys think is better to do w/ OD and why?
1-use the proprietary software that comes with the pan/io sensors, then export into OD
Assumed Pro's: don't have to pay for the bridge software which looks to be about 3 grand, don't have any image degradation from using a twain driver
Assumed Con's: extra time it takes to export/import image
2-purchase the bridge (Apteryx, XDR, Tigerview)
Assumed Pro's: spend less time importing/exporting
Assumed Con's: cost of bridge, possible image degradation w/ twain driver

Re: Imaging: export or bridge?
You're forgetting a con for #1. We don't have custom mounts. So how are you going to arrange 4BW?

I assume then that you agree with all the other pros/cons...jordansparks wrote:You're forgetting a con for #1. We don't have custom mounts. So how are you going to arrange 4BW?
Good point though. I was incorrectly envisioning how things work at my current office w/ whatever bridge we use for dentrix/schick sensor. I can select multiple individual images and bring them up together. With OD, it wouldn't be that bad to click on the individual ones from the most recent four under the BW tab.
