E-Claim Vendor
E-Claim Vendor
I am newbie in Dental Business. Just opened the practice this week and trying to setup E-claim with Open-Dental software. Does anyone have any recommendation of E-claim Vendor?
As I know, Open-Dent recommends Tesia but it’s not accepting the Electronic Attachment for Open-Dental based on what Tesia says. (They said it allow the electronic attachments for other major practice management software).
Since I don’t have any experience to handle the Dental insurance at this time, I am not sure how important the electronic attachment will be. Any idea from the experienced users?
If it’s important and ClaimConnect is the other choice, are they good enough to send e-claims to major insurance company?
How about Renaissance? Any practice is using this vendor? Please tell us your satisfaction.
Thank you and FYI: I am operating the practice at Georgia.

Reniassance has been outstanding, easy to use w/ great results. In counjugtion with Reniassance ,we use Fast Attach to send digital or scanned documentation w/ claims, primarily digital xrays.

And we use Emdeon - no problems and good service. We are not sending electronic attachments because our volume doesn't make it cost effective... but... the prices are constantly changing.
But whatever, e-claims is less expensive than paper, faster than paper and less hassle then paper.

Re: E-Claim Vendor
New offices should NOT use Rennaisance. No field validation is done on our end, and the format is not X-12 (HIPAA).

Jordan,
Could you explain that in English? (some of us are still pre-schoolers).
I've been using Rennaisance for years and it works great.
Are you suggesting I should change?
If not, why is it OK for current users, but not OK for new users?
Now might be the time as I've been contacted by them to pick some new plan.
What is the cost for Tesia?

Re: E-Claim Vendor
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It's as simple as that. I would have thought that you would be having problems. But if you're not, that's great. But for new users, I'm just trying to avoid potential annoyances.

"thought you would be having problems"?
Great.
Just what kind of problems would you think I'd be having?

Re: E-Claim Vendor
Lack of validation such as missing addresses, subscriber id's, and so on. If using X-12, we won't let claims go out with missing info. If using Renaissance, there is no such validation. Also, there is no place to put procedure level notes. No place to put date of previous crown for individual procedures. And a few other things that I can't think of right at the moment.

Oh..
Yeah we've had some of those issues....usually address related, some regarding notes.
But not enough to scream.
So.....
Anyone got a cost for Tesia?

Bddhong,
We would love to have the opportunity to earn your business. ClaimConnect works very well with OpenDental (no additional software to install), has extensive payer specific editing with the ability to easily understand and correct any errors online. It is also fully integrated with the NEA FastAttach service meaning you just submit your claims, and the system determines which claims need attachments for you.
We have direct connections to most insurance companies eliminating the "middle man".
Please contact our new client team at 800-576-6412, Ext. 455 for a full explanation and online training. We have no contracts or initial fees so you can try us out risk free.
Best regards,
Scott

Re: E-Claim Vendor
I have used EDI Claimconnect and Payconnect since opening my practice 2 1/2 years ago without any issues. They were able to set me up quickly and it has worked seemlessly with OD ever since. I don't bother with electronic attachments either, because the two major insurance companies in my state do not require radiograph proof of need. So I just send the few I have to do manually.
Good luck with the new practice!
