software backup to external drive

Post by abelaguilar » Tue Jan 05, 2010 12:22 pm

Hello:

Called open dental to figure out what software they recommend for external drive backup and no one had a clue.

Yes, we do off site on line backup. What i'm looking for is a good piece of software that will backup or sync my server files to external usb drive.

I've been using karen replicator for a while. My concern is, there is no way to shut down the sql database for backup and I constantly get error messages in the log files telling my serveral of the database files where not copied over becuase they are being used.

I've been testing backup software for the past couple of weeks. The one I like the most is Backup4all. The professional version has about every feature you can think of. It costs about $50. It works on all versions of Windows, 32 and 64 bit. It also backs up open files, so that would solve your problem.
