Popups

Post by hazmat » Wed Dec 09, 2009 2:58 pm

It looks like the popups have changed a bit in the newest version of OD so that they will only popup once on each computer. If you click to another patient and then go back to the first patient, the popup won't show. Is this the design and if so is there a preference somewhere to allow popups to show each time a patient is clicked?
Thanks

The old design was really confusing to people with all those choices on how long to disable it. After popping up, it will wait 10 minutes on that computer before popping up again. The assumption is that the user will generally remember that there was a popup for that person even if they don't remember what it was. If they want to see what the popup was, they can click the button in the toolbar.

But that's an interesting suggestion to reset it if you switch patients. We'll keep that in mind as a good change to make in the behavior. Along with the obvious need for different popups for different areas of the program.

This automatic 10 minute snooze on the popup is causing a problem for our staff because they all connect through the Terminal Server. So if the front desk sees the popup when they check the patient in, the assistant in the back never gets the popup because it doesn't differentiate them as different computers. Is there a place in the program to modify that 10 minutes, to say 1 minute? Or is that hard coded? Or could we get that snooze button back the way it used to be?

Sorry about the unintended consequence.
