Payment Number on statements

Is a unique number on statements planned for each payment made cash cheque or credit card ie sequentially increasing to allow it to be tracked for tax purposes/business self audit?What would be perfect is a number for each physical payment starting at say 1 or 1000, this wouldnt have to be done by invoice or treatment plan.Is this a feature request and if so how how up the list is it ?Cheers
