printing a medication list
printing a medication list
Ok today must be a weird day. I have had 2 people ask for the list of medications we have listed for 2 different patients. So I go to print out the list and there is no way to print it? Can some one tell me how to print out a list of meds that a patient is on? I ended up having to hand write all the meds which was 9 on the first patient and I had to do it for two different referrals?

Re: printing a medication list
Just adding my two cents worth - I have a todo list in the task list. Today, I wanted to print that out and put it in my pocket, but there is no easy way.

jordan its for a referral letter so you think a prit screen is viable.
Re: printing a medication list
I agree that we need a better way to print the medical summary window than the print screen tool. We had a situation where a remote office's internet went down and they couldn't access Open Dental. They asked our main office to fax the schedule, treatment plan, latest chart notes and med history for each patient so they could still work. Printing and faxing the med history wasn't an option for the following reasons:
1) The window doesn't have the patient's name on it anywhere, so if you do a print screen you don't know who it's for. You'd have to paste into word and type it in, or print it out and handwrite it on.
2) The text is so tiny on the print screen (maybe it's because of my screen resolution), that it's eligible, and would be even harder to read after faxing.
3) Some patients have so many medications and/or diseases that the scrolling comes into play, therefore not all the items would be listed. You'd have to do a print screen, scroll down in the list and do a second print screen.
4) Since we had the original med history form filled out on paper and scanned I figured I'd just print out the image. Well, that didn't work either - it was again eligible on the printout.
Thanks for bringing this up, it reminds me that I need to have a better backup plan in place for if/when an internet outage happens again.
