What is the purpose of the filing code in the insurance plan info screen? What I mean is, how is it tracked by OD and is it important for reports to have it filled in? Thanks

The filing code is for electronic claims. Most insurance companies use the CI code (Commercial Insurance). Some Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies use the BL code (Blues). If an insurance company uses something other than "Commercial Insurane" they will let you know. For our purposes it has no use except to be able to send a correct insurance claim.
