I just bought an HTC Ozone (Verizon's version of the Snap). It has an MSM7625 processor which is supposed to use the ARMv6 instruction set. I tried installing the .CAB files for the ARMv4 instruction set, but I get the message that installation was unsuccessful and that "the installation file is not intended for this device". Any suggestions as to how to fix this, or is it just not an option with this phone. I'd appreciate any help, as I only really got a Windows Mobile device to have access to the mobile version of Open Dental. The phone is running Windows Mobile 6.1.
Thanks,
Mike

Re: mobile installation problem
Hmm. It should work. On our instruction page:
http://www.open-dent.com/manual/mobile.html
In the SQL Server Compact section, try step 5. Install the MS download on your workstation, and then look for the CAB files you need. That's the way Microsoft wants us to install SQL Server Compact. If that doesn't work, then Microsoft does provide phone assistance for installing things like this. You could actually call them for technical support.

Re: mobile installation problem
Thanks for getting back to me. I had downloaded Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition 3.5 and found those files, but I received the same message. After looking around different blogs and forums I tried installing sqlce.ppc.wce5.armv4i.CAB and sqlce.dev.ENU.ppc.wce5.armv4i.CAB, and those installed o.k., but when I try to run Open Dental mobile I get:
OpenDentMobile.exe
NotSupportedException
at Microsoft.AGL.Common.MISC.HandleAR()
at System.Windows.Forms.Control._InitInstance()
at System.Windows.Forms.Control..ctor()
at System.Windows.Forms.Button..ctor()
at OpenDentMobile.ContrAppt.InitializeComponent()
at OpenDentMobile.ContrAppt..ctor()
at OpenDentMobile.FormOpenDental..ctor()
at OpenDentMobile.Program.Main()
I'll try contacting Microsoft as you had suggested. I am not a programmer and am not particularly savvy with this stuff. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Re: mobile installation problem
I think I answered my own stupid question. I didn't realized the Ozone runs on Windows Mobile Standard, not Professional. I think that the standard is the equivalent of Windows Mobile Smartphone platform.

Re: mobile installation problem
I have a Samsung Code with Mobile 6.1. I installed Compact Server 3.5 and I receieved the same message:
OpenDentMobile.exe
NotSupportedException
at Microsoft.AGL.Common.MISC.HandleAR()
at System.Windows.Forms.Control._InitInstance()
at System.Windows.Forms.Control..ctor()
at System.Windows.Forms.Button..ctor()
at OpenDentMobile.ContrAppt.InitializeComponent()
at OpenDentMobile.ContrAppt..ctor()
at OpenDentMobile.FormOpenDental..ctor()
at OpenDentMobile.Program.Main()
Which one is the solution to be able to run Open Dental on my device? I had it before on a Axim Pocket PC with Windows Mobile Classic, I don't understand why it can run on this new phone.
Thank you very much.
