Patient Signature

Post by fschiopu » Sat Oct 03, 2009 9:15 am

Hi,

Is there any way I can have the patient's signature print on the claim in the authorization section, instead of Signature on File? I have a few patients who's carriers don't accept SOF.

Thank You

If you have to print the claim form and you can't always use signature on file, then the best thing would be to edit the claimform (or better yet make a copy of the claimform so you don't loose it). Delete the signature fields on this copy and your claimform will print with those fields blank. Your patients can then sign on the printed claimform. Make sure to make the copy the default.

In the InsPlan edit window, just uncheck the box for Signature on File. No need to edit the claimform in any way.

Hi,

I was thinking of something similar to the consent form in the chart module. I was able to create a new claim form and replace my name (they want the providers signature too) with a scanned version of my signature that prints with the claim, but i couldn't find a field that uses the patient signature.

Oh, I misunderstood. You want the signature image to show up. I've never heard of an insurance company that won't accept "signature on file". No, there is no field for the patient signature image to show.
