I am in the market for new practice management software and I have been using/playing with the trial version of Open Dental. When using the "Chart Module" I entered some surfaces incorrectly and it appears this box cannot be changed once the "MODB or L" has been entered. Is this how the program normally operates or just on the trial version?
When I referred back to the user manual I found the following paragraph (quoted below) which makes it seem as if you cannot change a surface once it is entered in the box... What do you do when the wrong surface is entered?
"Treatment is usually entered by first selecting teeth in the tooth chart. Once the teeth are selected, you click on the surfaces, then diagnosis, and finally on a procedure. Depending on which teeth are selected, some surfaces will be disabled. When you click on the buttons for each surface, the surfaces box directly above them is updated. You cannot edit this box."
Thank you
Sue

Re: Chart module question
Yes, you can easily change the surfaces. Push the nearby buttons with letters on them instead of trying to edit the text in the box. I think you are talking about in the main window. Pushing the buttons toggles each surface back and forth. If you want to type instead, you could ignore the surfaces and type them into the procedure edit window when it comes up.
If you have trouble with any of this, a great approach is to call us. We will remotely connect with you and show you how. Once you get used to it, using Open Dental should not be annoying or we are not doing our jobs.

Jordan, Thank you for the quick reply. I tried it and it worked. I'm sure I'll have a few more "duh" questions as I convert to Open Dental.
Thanks!
